Why is some AI Technology Unsupported for Faculty and Staff
By nature, AI technology must ingest university data to provide AI summaries and generative AI data in return. There are serious concerns with privacy, security, and data integrity when using unsupported AI applications. If we do not know where our data is going, then that data is no longer in our control and is essentially giving that data away.
Examples of Unsupported AI Applications
The following applications are not supported for use of University data from our employees.
- ReadAI
- OtterAI
Supported AI Alternatives
- Zoom AI - Click here for more information
- Teams Premium and/or Team Copilot - Click here for more information
Removal of ReadAI
ReadAI can be particularly aggressive in the manner in which the AI application takes notes. Invitation to the meeting can happen from any participation with a ReadAI account.
1. Remove ReadAI from my meeting (I didn't invite it)
When the ReadAI app appears in your Zoom meeting, it will show up as a user in your list of people in the meeting. Select the name of the ReadAI account to start a message with that account. Then, directly send a message it: read STOP.
2. Delete your ReadAI Account (I signed up, but no longer want to use it)
a. Please use the following link to delete your ReadAI account:

b. You will also need to remove ReadAI from your Zoom and Teams apps, and remove calendar permissions.
