As we continue to integrate AI tools into our daily operations, it's crucial that we adhere to safe standards to ensure the safety and security of our university data and resources. Please take note of the following:
Important: To request use of a tool that has academic interaction, will be used in courses, or will create content to be used in courses, please reach out to the Academic Technology Committee.
For non-academic AI resources:
-
Avoid Any AI Tool That Has Not Been Expressly Approved: Refrain from downloading or using AI tools that have not been vetted or approved by our IT department. Using unverified tools can pose significant risks to our systems and data.
-
Protect University Property and Sensitive Records: Always prioritize the security of our company's property and sensitive records. Ensure with IT that any AI tools you use comply with our data protection policies and do not expose confidential information.
-
Consult the Help Desk Before Using a New AI Tool: Before introducing any new AI tool into your workflow, please consult with our Help Desk. They will assist in evaluating the tool's safety and compatibility with our existing systems.
