Based on our Zoom licensing model, we periodically review and clean up Zoom licenses. During this process, your Zoom account may become quickly delicensed. This is most likely to take place just before a new term. However, this process will not have any negative effect upon your experience if you take the following steps when getting ready for your Zoom session.
Important: Completing the steps below will ensure the correct licensing is applied to your account before each meeting.
- It is a good habit to get into before every Zoom session.
Zoom sessions can open using a personal Zoom account or a Zoom account that is not currently associated with your Franklin license, thus not having the benefits of the Pro Zoom license. Confirming the correct login status before each class can help prevent unexpected issues when starting a meeting.
Before each Zoom meeting
1. Open the Zoom application on your computer.
2. Click the upper-right corner and verify that you are logged into Zoom with your Franklin University email address.
- Signed In: If you are signed in, you should see your email address listed here. You are all set to start your meeting.
- Not Signed In: If you are not signed in, you should see something like is shown below. Use the SSO button and then enter “franklin” and press Continue.
- Completing the steps above will open a webpage. Log into that webpage with your Franklin University credentials. After successfully logging into that webpage, the correct licensing has been applied to your account.
3. Lastly, open the Zoom link in your course or the link in your email.
