Accessing Canvas for the First Time
Course access for instructors is available 14 days prior to the course start through the website my.franklin.edu

Creating Announcements
Canvas offers instructors the ability to release announcements to their students to inform them of any important changes.

Downloading Assignment Submission
You can also download all assignment submissions for an assignment. For more information, please click here.
Turnitin Integration
Canvas has built in integration with the Turnitin plagiarism check tool. Similarity reports allow instructors to verify originality of student submissions. Many assignments have Turnitin integration enabled by course design. When enabled, submitting the assignment through Canvas also applies the Turnitin plagiarism check to that assignment.
However, if Turnitin integration hasn't been enabled for an assignment, you may need to enable Turnitin in your class assignments.

Instructors teaching courses in Canvas will use the Self-Service tool to track and grade student attendance in their class.

Canvas Messaging and Email
The 2 messaging systems are:
- Canvas messaging system
- Microsoft Office365 email
These 2 messaging systems do not talk to one another, meaning a message sent in one system will not show up in the other system.
