Overview
In the Faculty Hub, view, edit, and report on Faculty Observations and Self-Evaluations. Faculty should be observed at least once every three years. Successful observation protocol includes the completion of the Observer completing an observation AND the Observee completing a self-evaluation.
Instructions to Initiate a Faculty Observation

1. Observers will log in to the Faculty Hub using their myFranklin username and password; select Faculty Observation.
2. Select Start New Observation in the left menu.
3. Complete the information to initiate the faculty observation and select submit. (Note: the due date will default to 30 days post-initiation. Please modify the due date as needed and a notification will be sent to Lead Faculty if observation is not completed as of the due date provided.
4. Once an observation is created, an email notification is sent to the Observer, Observee, and Lead Faculty.
Instructions to Complete an Existing Observation
1. Once the observation has been initiated, go to View Existing Observations in the left-side menu navigation.
2. Search for the Observee name and course to be observed. Select the link under the Observation column.
3. Complete the rubric for all performance indicators by choosing the number 1-4 and provide comments where appropriate. In addition, choose the two-goal summary, then select Submit.
4. The Observee may only view a completed observation once it is shared. To share the observation with the Observee immediately, select Share. To share the observation at a later time, go back to this step and select share. If not shared, the observation cannot be viewed by the Observee. Email notifications are triggered and received by the following actions:
a. Observation submitted (Observer, Lead Faculty)
b. Observation completed by Observer and Shared (Observee)
c. Observation 30 days overdue for Observer (Observer, Lead Faculty)
Instructions to Complete a Self-Evaluation
1. Observees will log in to the Faculty Hub using their myFranklin username and password and select Faculty Observation.
2. Select View Existing Observations and search for the Observee name and the observed course.
3. Select the link under the Self-Evaluation column (e.g. not started, in progress, or overdue).
4. Complete the rubric for all performance indicators by choosing the number 1-4 and provide comments where appropriate. In addition, choose the two-goal summary, then select Submit.
5. The self-evaluation should be completed by the indicated due date (if this date has passed, it will show as overdue)
6. Once a self-observation is completed, an email notification will be sent to the Observer. If a self-evaluation is overdue, an email will be sent to the Observee and Lead Faculty.
