Faculty, staff, and students of Franklin University now have access to eduroam WiFi, the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.
Eduroam allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campuses and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop. Access is available in thousands of locations across over 70 countries worldwide. (For more information about eduroam, visit their web site: https://www.eduroam.org/)
To Connecting to eduroam:
- If you see the "eduroam" wireless network show up on your device while visiting another campus, just connect to it. This network has limited access so when you're on your home campus be sure to use FranklinSecure or UUSecureWiFi. If you find that your device is remembering the eduroam connection and connecting to it by default on your own campus then you may need to tell your device to "forget" the eduroam network.
- Login on the eduroam network using your username followed by "@franklin.edu". Note that for Franklin students this may differ from their email address that ends in "email.franklin.edu".
- Personal devices: If you receive any warnings about certificates you will need to tell your device to Connect/Accept/Ignore/etc. the first time logging in. University devices should already have these certificates installed so you should not receive any warnings. If you do, then choose Connect/Accept/Ignore/etc.
