Problem:
When printing a document, the previously assigned printer is no longer listed as an option in the list of available printers, or incorrect printers are listed.
Solution:
This issue can be caused when your computer's Group Policies did not load correctly when you logged into your user profile. The following process may be used to update these policies.
Restart your computer. Group Policy is applied at the start of your PC. If that does not resolve the issue, please open up the Start Menu and type in "Command prompt" into the search box. Click on the command prompt result to open the Command Prompt application.
Here, you may type in the following command and hit Enter: gpupdate /force
This will initiate the Group Policy Update process. If you are prompted to log out, please save any unclosed work, then insert "y" into the Command Prompt and hit Enter. This will log out of your account so that the changes may take effect.
If this process does not correct the issue, we recommend restarting your PC. If the issue persists, please contact the Technology Help Desk with a list of the affected printers and/or network drives so that we may identify and correct the issue.
