Viewing the Traditional Calendar
In addition to the standard home page calendar view, students and instructors may now also view a more traditional Calendar.
The standard view looks like this:
To view the traditional calendar:
- Click Calendar at the top of the page if you are a non-Franklin BlueQuill user.
- If you are a Franklin BlueQuill user, then you can open the calendar from the home page by clicking on the Calendar icon shown below:
- For non-Franklin users, click Courses to the left of the Calendar button to toggle back to the standard view.
- For Franklin users, click the Close button to return to the home screen.
- You may also choose one view to be the default view by selecting the view you want and then click the "Make this my default view" checkbox. Each time you log in, your view will default to the option you have selected, either the course view or the calendar view.
- NOTE: This feature is no longer an option with the new home page design for Franklin.

Filtering and Adjusting Views
From this view, you can see monthly/weekly views, all courses, or custom course views. By default, all course activity is shown in the month view. Courses are listed on the left and assignments with due dates are listed in the calendar grid. Clicking on any assignment will open that assignment within the course for viewing.
To view activity for a specific course:
- Click on the course name and the view will switch to include only activities for that course.

- Click on additional courses to add them to the custom view.
- You can click on a selected course again to remove it from the view or click Clear Filters to reset the view to the default.
- Using the arrows, you can navigate to the next month or a previous month view.
- In the top, left-hand corner of the calendar, you can select Today to jump back to the current date.
- You can also switch between the Week and Month view by clicking on the week or month buttons in the top, right-hand corner of the calendar.
Exporting the Calendar
The calendar can be exported to other popular calendar applications or devices, such as Outlook. To begin:
- Click Export Calendar in the top, left-hand corner of the calendar.
- This will create a custom URL address specific to your calendar. Hover your mouse over the link to make the Copy button appear. Click this button to copy the URL to your computer's clipboard.
- You will see a confirmation message that the URL has been copied like so:
- Now, the calendar can be imported into other applications, such as Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar. Please refer to your specific phone/tablet’s instructions for subscribing to an outside calendar. Most have wizards that will step you through the process.
You may also paste the URL into a new browser tab to download the ICS file to your device. Clicking on the link from your device will often guide you through the calendar import wizard of the application you wish to use.
You can also paste the URL into an email, send it to yourself and then click on the link to the ICS file on your smartphone. This should also start the setup process on your device.
