What is the Marketplace?

Franklin University launched the FranklinWorks Marketplace in 2021. The Marketplace is an educational platform allowing learners to mix and match as many opportunities as they wish. The portal primarily contains non-traditional learning options that promote stackable, skill based, workplace ready offerings. Learners can browse a variety of offerings from trusted partners such as Coursera, MedCerts, and uCertify. All learning options are available to individuals and partners, and many non-credit offerings can lead to college credit.

The Prior Learning Assessment Tool

The Prior Learning Assessment Tool runs as a thread through the FranklinWorks Marketplace, allowing learners to answer the question, “When I complete this program, how will it fit into various degree programs at Franklin University, saving time and money?”

Supported Platforms in the Marketplace

The FranklinWORKS Marketplace has a handful of platforms for taking courses. 

• Coursera – 40 self-paced industry recognized offerings that lead to certificates and potential college credit; more than 7500 offerings from the full Coursera catalog 
• MedCerts – 21 self-paced offerings in various fields of healthcare  
• UCertify – 8 self-paced learning programs that prepare students for CompTIA certification  
• Upcoming:  
• Ed2Go – a mostly self-paced learning platform that provides users with access to over 700 topics, programs, more for the most in-demand fields. Some instructor-led courses are available.  

How to Enroll in Courses

Access can either be setup by learners purchasing courses, or can be setup through Partnerships with the FranklinWORKS Marketplace team.
